Seed Sowing:
Direct seeding is recommended. Seeds can be sown as soon as soil can be worked in the spring. Cover seed 1/8 inch with fine soil as seed needs dark to germinate.
To start seed indoors, plant 4-6 weeks into jumbo plug tray as roots do not like to be disturbed. Dark is required for seed to germinate, cover seeds lightly. Plant outdoors after all danger of frost has passed.
Cut Flower:
Harvest when over 50 percent of flowers have opened. Phlox has a beautiful smell. Be careful when harvesting and arranging as the flowers do bruise easily.
