• Harvest: when flower is fully developed, stems are firm at base

Seed Sowing:

Sow seeds into preferred container 6-8 weeks before planting out.  Light is needed for germination so do not cover seed.  Wait to plant outside until all danger of frost has passed.  Can be direct sown only if your season allows, as days to maturity is 90-95 days. 

Cut Flower:

Celosia is a wonderful cut flower, it can be used both fresh and dried.  Make sure to allow the flower to mature before cutting.  Do not put celosia in a cooler.  Makes an excellent dried flower.
